The Time When We Have To March Forward in Search of a New Path of Faith

Now humanity has come to the time when they must march forward toward a new goal. Therefore, human beings must look for a new goal.

You must not try be in a comfortable position only promoting your own interests or abuse your faith as did the Israelite people and their leaders, the chief priests, of the past. Now is the same kind of difficult time as when Jesus went up to the garden of Gethsemane and offered a decisive prayer to God while the path of crucifixion lay before him. Moreover, just as Moses climbed Mount Sinai on behalf of the 600,000 Israelites and prayed earnestly for forty days and nights with his life on the line, this is the time we must pray for the sake of the people and the world. Moreover, in the last days, there must emerge many sons and daughters of God who can manage this kind of mission. If such people can really be found, then the twelve tribes and seventy elders during Moses’ time and the twelve disciples of Jesus cannot even compare to them.

If the Israelite people had actually forgotten their own situations and supported Moses, who was fasting and praying for forty days and nights on Mount Sinai and had entreated God with him, then they would not have suffered through the forty bitter years of wandering in the wilderness. Moreover, if there was a disciple who beheld Jesus and fell on his knees to pray together in tears with the same heart, then the 2,000 years of ordeals would not have come into being. However, our ancestors could not fulfil these tasks. Still, we must be able to forgive these historical mistakes of the ancestors and bring to a conclusion the grief of the world. We must restore the garden of joy that God seeks. To do that, you must search the right path that will lead you to the destination in the homeland.

When Moses climbed Mount Sinai, he did not tell the Israelite people, “I am going to pray for you.” Moreover, when Jesus was offering a deep prayer in lonely solitude, he did not tell anyone about it. He did not even tell his three disciples, Peter, John and James. Now is also that kind of time.

The reason is that there is the condition set by the ancestors of humankind who betrayed God by secretly falling. Therefore, we descendants have the dispensational fate to set the condition God can recognize. Such a thing has taken place frequently during history. Moreover, you must understand that, in the last days, when we must cross over the one door while gazing at the day of glory, such things will take place.

Although Jesus spoke on behalf of the people, the world and God from a position of transcending himself, all the apostles who were following Jesus thought the words Jesus spoke were meant only for them. When Jesus did something good, they thought it was only for their sake. When Jesus entered a lowly position, they thought that he did it for their sake. Because they had this kind of faith, God could not fundamentally approve of them. You have to understand that there they began to split away from God.

In this moment then when we are in the Last Days, what position should you who must seek for the day of glory stand in? More than anything else, you must be able to connect to the heart of Jesus. Each of you must create this kind of environment for your individual lives. Furthermore, you must make this environmental foundation that can act in for the world and the whole universe. If you make this kind of environment, then this will come together and form the environment of life for Israel on the world level.

You who have participated here today! At present what is your purpose in believing and following God? You should ask yourself this question in this hour today. Do you perhaps have the desire to use God to raise yourself up and seek only your own happiness? You must not do that. You must transcend yourself and put the purpose of faith in God.

Jesus possessed a heart of concern for God, even when he was happy. On the contrary, for the crowds that followed him, the more their joy was magnified, the more they welcomed Jesus with the desire to accomplish their own purposes and desires on earth. Jesus was the only person who sincerely worried about God. The future of Christianity today will be blocked if it stands in that position. Moreover, if there is a religion that conducts its life of faith in this manner, then the same thing will happen to it.

What then is the path Jesus walked? As I have just said, Jesus forsook himself. Even when he was happy, he did not take that as his own happiness, but tried to channel all of it to God.

Therefore, now you must be happy when Jesus is happy. You are not to be happy centring on yourself, but centring on God and Jesus. Moreover, you are not to set as your purpose that which will unite with your desires, but set as your purpose that which unites only with God. Otherwise, we will be separated from Jesus. We will be divided in the same way that Moses and the Israelite people were divided and the way the Israelites were divided from Joshua and Caleb.

The Standard of Love that Jesus Established

What did Jesus do to realize the value of such a cosmic life? He elevated love. In other words, he propagated new words of the gospel to complete the value of cosmic life in heaven and earth. The central point of that gospel was love.

What would be the most important thing for an individual to be able to connect his own private life to the standard of eternal value? As Jesus said, he must have such love that he can sacrifice his life for the sake of others. In fact, Jesus established the standard of value of life by loving others more than himself.

Similarly, Jesus, who appeared representing the value of heavenly life, taught humankind to possess such love that they can sacrifice their lives for the sake of others’ salvation. You must understand clearly that the man who appeared with such a loving heart, who loved his colleagues more than himself, who loved the world more than he loved his colleagues, and who loved God and the thousands upon thousands of saints more than he loved the world was Jesus Christ.

Jesus did not live with an individualistic ideology to find the value of his own individual life or with individualistic love. Even when he loved a friend, his love transcended the relationship of loving friendship. Jesus had the perspective that he loved the friend representing the world. He also loved that friend with the heart that represented God.

Likewise, Jesus did not practice love on a one-to-one basis. When Jesus loved a certain individual, it was with God’s love, with cosmic love, and then with individual love. You must be able to experience this. Only when you do so can you rightly comprehend the value of Jesus’ life.

Up to what level did Jesus raise the standard of his own life? He envisioned himself existing for the sake of the world. Even when he loved a friend of his, forsaking himself, he kept the perspective that he loved him for the sake of the world. This was Jesus’ standard.

Jesus could establish the standard of love of worldwide salvation on the cross because he had the heart of love and sacrifice with which he could die for the sake of an individual and for the whole simultaneously. You must know that Jesus was the hero of love, life and character. That was not all. Jesus then prayed toward Heaven, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as You will.” (Matthew 26:39) Because Jesus wished to live only according to the will of the Father, he could demonstrate God’s love to humankind beyond the valley of death. Similarly, we must know that the entire course of Jesus’ life was filled with such remarkable love.

Next, what did Jesus Christ, who came with the mission to restore the cosmic life, raise to find the value of life? That, too, was love. This love was not meant for individual human beings but for the world, God and the eternal world — the spiritual beings who are in the spirit world.

In order for us, in our daily lives, to realize the value of the life of Jesus, who represented God’s love, we who must take responsibility for the restoration of the whole life must not deal with whichever matter we face with transient emotions. We must deal with all things with the resolution and determination that we will model ourselves after Jesus’ character, who represented the whole on the cosmic level. Only after we pass through such a day-to-day life can we complete the worldwide life and make a connection with eternal life.

In other words, if your day-to-day lives have a transient value that affects only you, you cannot make a connection with eternity. That is the reason you must lead a life in which you can make a connection with God’s eternal love. Only when you do that will the eternal God be with you. Because Jesus lived making daily connections with God throughout his life, though Jesus is dead, the will of God, who wished it to be completed by Jesus, has been continuously carried on toward its completion.

Love Unbounded: The Feral Cat

The feral cat shook its fur on the blanket. It stretched its back a bit, carefully enough not to wake up completely.

If feral cats can yawn, it yawned, too.

“So, this is where I am” – noted with narrowly opened eyes. It was dark in the room.

“It’s okay to be here”, continued its thoughts “though…” and the thoughts became foggier.

“Where was I?” asked itself while falling back asleep again.

“Now, I know” woke up again. Well, this was more of a purr than a real waking up. The one everyone makes especially feral cats.

“I could be loved more”.

“Definitely, I could be patted and loved more.”

“My fur needs to be combed more often. Holy Mice, this silky fur needs combing, at all!”

“And I could have a real name, not just this temporary.”

“Humans are so weird, why couldn’t I have a normal name, like Johnny? Or just simply, John?”

So, John, the feral cat fell asleep again. This time he was dreaming about being patted, loved, cared and always fed more than he could think of.

He wasn’t greedy at all. John was among those who always appreciated each and every little bite – never thinking of how pathetic the situation could look like.

“Come Kitty-kitty, jump here to the window shield!” or “Kitty-kitty, catch the food!” and sometimes “Come let’s play! Where is your food? Can you smell it? Yes, it’s right in that tiny box, can you grab it out, Kitty-kitty?” But he didn’t care. Actually, time to time he even liked these silly games.

Originally, John (or Johnny for friends), had a shelter in the street, next to a crowded road. Life in a shelter is not fun; all humans know this well, so as feral cats. However, this was his home and he liked it. He liked it even in downpour; those times he was just sitting and let the raindrops wash the dust away from his hair. He enjoyed watching the rain and feeling the fresh air as it was cleaned from the pollution.

John took a deep breath in his sleep.

Other times, he was just laying in the grass, watching some buzzing bugs flying around the dandelions. He didn’t know so much about bugs but he respected them. On the contrary to those fellow feral cats who behaved like birds and had a tendency to keep bugs on the daily menu, John was just watching them.

If feral cats can smile, those times he was smiling, too.

And John was a peaceful love seeker.

He was curving in the blanket now.

John’s memories were full of nice moments with children whom (and this was something he was really proud of) never ever bitten or scratched.

He had just a special feel for them.

He enjoyed their laugh and certainly he enjoyed when they pat him.

Once he even jumped into a baby cart. The three young siblings were laughing and patting him and the mother was taking photo of him. That was a nice feeling: belonging to somewhere, belonging to someone. For a moment John forgot he was a stray, an unplanned and unwanted; a useless beggar in the eyes of many. He was just happy and comforted.

John didn’t know then, but that was the very moment when his whole life was about to change completely.

John walked into to the other room and laid down to the feet of the children. He immediately fell asleep again. As he was sleeping, with one of his ears he was constantly checking the young children’s breath to see if everything was okay with them.
