The beginning and the end of the truth must be the same…

“The beginning and the end of the truth must be the same. Today, we do not need religion. A person who can connect his heart directly to Heaven and Earth would be enough for that purpose. Peace comes from the heart too. When my mind expresses happiness, the vast expanse of the universe becomes my bosom friend and runs wild within the world of my mind.” – Reverend Sun Myung Moon

SMM Quotes – 244

“Unless words and action are one, they result in evil. If we harmonize on all sides we are balanced. If we don’t harmonize, we lose our spiritual balance and it is almost impossible for us to right ourselves. The same is true of our faith – if we lean to one side we lose harmony and harmony cannot easily be recovered, even with hundreds of thousands of times the effort. So to keep from turning aside from our path, you must be right and true in your words and actions – behavior and feelings to draw the boundary between gain and loss in your religious life. Even one hundredth of second will make or break your fate.” – Reverend Sun Myung Moon

Friday Affirmation

Say this to yourself as a repetition: “I love myself for no reason. I am who I can be. I can achieve anything what I set my mind to do so.”

Let yourself hear your own voice saying these.

Say as you mean it, even if it is a challenge to accept it.

This is not a textbook, this is life experience.

You can re-create yourself for the better each day!

The Root of Goodness, the Root of Love and the Root of Life

If you come to realize why Jesus, who came to be harvested as the fruitful entity of goodness, wishes to come again and demands a practical faith of human beings on this earth, you then have to move forward. You must fight with the resolution to advance through this path to the end, even in the face of any ordeals, sufferings and courses of struggle. Furthermore, you must not lead a life where you are self-centred and looking after your own interests.

Because each human being has lived a life that does good only for him or herself, and has carried out social activities in the same way, God feels sad. We of today should not live like that.

Although you may live somewhat self-centred for a day-to-day short life span, in the duration of your lifetime, you must set up a certain standard that you will consider as your centre. In other words, if there is a man who has everything working out well, centred on himself, throughout his day-to-day life, he cannot live with confidence like that for the duration of a lifetime or else he cannot be offered to God as a harvest of goodness. Therefore, unless you wait eagerly for that one day when you can make a father-son relationship with Jesus throughout your lifetime and build a foundation such that you can bear trials to seek that one centre, and endure any kind of hardship, you cannot reap the harvest of goodness for which you have hoped and for which Jesus Christ has wished on this Earth.

You cannot establish the standard of goodness only by your life course. Although it seems that there are words of goodness and men of goodness in this world, the person who can be the fountain-head and father of goodness has not yet appeared. Human beings are all speaking of love, goodness and life, but they all speak of their own lifetime. Until one substantial entity that can be the root of goodness, the root of love, and the root of life comes into our depths by connecting with our minds, our bodies, and our whole lifetimes, we cannot become the substantial entity of goodness. We must reach the standard of being able to connect with that entity.

We should be aware that Jesus was the man who came as the Father of all things in the Universe. In other words, he was the Father of myriads of people and he became the root of all life in this world. Therefore, Jesus became the root of goodness to the human beings who could not find the root of true life on this Earth. What is more, Jesus came to introduce the standard that can be the root of goodness to realize God’s Will in the human world. He is the root where the providential history that God has idealized is being unfolded in an obscure way

Since Jesus had a spirit and a body, he must have had internal and spiritual things, along with external and physical matters. Therefore, he must have had internal life and external life. Jesus established the central coordinates of life through living a life where the internal and the external are combined. He kept going to accomplish the standard that he wished, walking the course of the substantial entity for the sake of the Will on this Earth.

Although Jesus led a life suitable for him to fulfil such a mission, he did not attain the goal completely. That is why he had to wait 2,000 years to come back again. If the goal had been completely attained, then the Holy Spirit, Jesus and God would have come to live with us.

What do you think we have to inherit today from God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit? Human beings on this Earth must inherit the ideal of substantial goodness that Jesus wished and upheld. They must then set up the concept of goodness, the religion of goodness, and the standard of goodness which can connect their minds and bodies and connect to God’s Shim Jung (heart). If you possess the root of Jesus’ good ideology, it will still put forth new shoots, no matter how many times it is cut off.

We men of faith must understand what the root of such goodness is, what the root of God’s Love is, and what is the root of God’s Life and His Will. The lives of human beings, who lost such a root cannot transcend the aspects of time and space. However, if today, from the position where we are restricted by time and space, we come to find the root of goodness that can live in the eternal relationship with goodness, we then can rise above the world of time and space.

Are People Inherently Bad?

Have you ever thought our world is doomed and people are less likely to manifest eternal happiness and cause joy to each other? You might be right about it…

However, there is an “if” in this case.

First of all, “if” we really look around and see the recent state of our world today we can safely say, there are barely any glimpses of true shine of hope and wisdom.

Can any leaders in any field be trusted to take a lead for the greater good not for own, selfish interests?

Of course, plenty of them are giving donations which is great, some support people in need, children in crisis and so on.

A great yet small sum in exchange for what they did to them, to all of us. Anyhow, we are all into this, together, collectively.

Yes, personally you most probably never harmed anyone, never caused any regional conflict to gain more for your business, possibly never lied bluntly instead of being honest and most probably you never took advantage on the vulnerable ones.

However, we all let it happen. We all let the evil to spread among us, causing misery and agony.

With every day not changing and evolving for the greater, common good, we keep repeating the same, vicious cycle what has been happening since we remember for human history.

And maybe there is where everything lies behind.

We forgot the beginning.

We became purposeless.

We became rootless.

This rootlessness made us to be ruthless. And instead of dreaming for a great future and building it, we keep doing everything against ourselves and each other.

“IF” we look around, if we really look at that, especially the Nature, we can see patterns. Patterns which are unchanging, eternal in every level in the Universe. Even in our own cells. Even in the planetary systems. And they are to show how our own lives are supposed to be.

Living for the sake of others.

It all starts with an internal desire, continues with the right mindset. It goes on with the right way of speaking. And then actions come. First: mind and body unity, centred on a true heart.

A person who is growing this way, can relate in a more mature level with another one. Together, they are able to unite in a much higher and heartfelt relationships. A true one.

It can happen between a parent and a child, siblings and spouses.

As for siblings, this can be applied to anyone, every one of us can relate to each other as true brothers and sisters.

We can even use this kind of approach with the world around us, keeping and growing a sustainable garden of life.

“If” we can see the patterns, maybe it takes time, then, we will be able to start to think of applying them, step by step to our lives.

Will it be successful at first? Not necessarily.

Will we succeed ultimately? Absolutely.

What we need here is, to be able to see, we are not meant to suffer, we never were. We need to be able to see, we were never meant to hurt each other or abandon in need.

Everyone deserves to be happy and live a joyous life.

We need to find our original mindset for that. Since the desire is in our heart, we are already at the second step.

The impulse of the original mind, which everyone possesses, is to abhor evil and exalt goodness.

So, what are we waiting for?

We were born to be good with such a great creativity for co-creation.

Man Should Be the Starting Point for the Historical Fulfilment of Hope

Because the body did not follow the mind’s demands, mankind has been trying until now to find a place where the body can satisfy what the mind desires. In order to stop the fight between the mind and the body, and to re-establish the original point of tranquillity, many people have suffered all kinds of toil through the road of religion, the road of asceticism, and the road of education. But in the history of mankind there has never been a person anywhere who could achieve the decisive victory in attaining the original point of tranquillity.

This fight has constantly been going on, from the past to the present, and it is continuing even within yourselves. It has been mankind’s hope to settle this fight once and for all. It has also been the hope of God, who is leading mankind. Then what should be the starting point for the fulfilment of this hope, which is the hope of God, the hope of mankind? Where should the fulfilment of this hope start? Before it is fulfilled in the world, it has to be completed in the nation, and before it is fulfilled in the nation it has to be done in the family, and before it is fulfilled in the family, it has to be done in the individual.

Ultimately, instead of desiring to see its fulfilment in the outside world, I must prepare it inside myself. Unless we find that starting point for a decisive victory within ourselves, the Kingdom of Heaven that we desire and that God desires will not be realized. The problem of making unity within oneself, who is divided, who is fighting on a forked road, is the homework that mankind has to resolve. It is also the historical desire of God, who is always looking for the starting point of victory through mankind.

When we try to find where that returning point is, which is the desire of history, it is not the world, not some nation, not some family. Without first finding this returning point within myself there is no way to go from the family to the world. Throughout history, families have been formed centring on individuals who have not found this solution. Societies have been formed by these kinds of families. The nation and the world have spread out, centring on these kinds of societies. This is the situation of today’s world.

This fight has been continuing throughout history. Then where is the origin of this fight? It is not some country that became the cause of this fight. It is not some tribe. The origin of this fight is, in all aspects, between the individual’s mind and body. You must know that this is the origin of the fight. Unless we settle this completely, the fight will never end. When unity is established, finally, once and for all, the authority of God will appear and the standard of perfection will come into existence centring on “myself”.

When we look at it this way, the place where God’s authority is established is “I”. The place where God’s desire is fulfilled is also “I”. All success or failure begins with the individual. Therefore, when the individual is completely perfected, there you can see the image of the whole. In the middle of this image of the whole, finally, a world of true ideology with one form can appear. Therefore, we cannot deny the fact that the origin of everything does not exist in the objective world but inside ourselves.

To Become a Source of God’s Pride

We have not known the God who could never take pride in His creation. We did not know that He saw His pride turn into sorrow and manifest itself in tears.

Therefore, now we must find the original heavenly nature and original love of which God longs to be proud. Accordingly, as the people who possess the original heart of love that can relate with God, you must cultivate yourselves to become those in whom God can take pride. Although, God has been yearning and searching for the one person who can bring shame to Satan and provide God with a source of pride, He has not been able to find such a person.

People want to boast. It is human nature to put one’s self forward and boast about oneself. We have the desire to boast about our parents, our children, and the whole of our family. Furthermore, we have the desire to be proud of our tribes, our nations, our world, and the whole of heaven and earth. Although, you are fallen people, your original minds that seek to boast about things are controlling both your lives and history. You have to understand this.

Why do we think of such a desire as wrong? It is because of the Human Fall. In our daily lives, we want to boast about everything we have. We do not want to boast about them to just our neighbours, but to everyone in the world. The desire to be proud is not an evil desire; it is an impulse of the original mind. This is the original mind through which you can enter the Kingdom of Heaven. It is the desire of our hearts to boast about ourselves and be famous on the level of the society, the nation and the world.

Why does such a desire move in our hearts and stir our feelings? It is because we have the natural desire to boast. Our minds have this desire because, if God and human beings had become one in the ideal manner, that would have been the source of pride for us as well as God. This is why we are moving in this direction, even though we fell. This is why we are struggling to find the central value of the whole cosmos.

However, because human beings fell, the laws concerning pride were not in line with the Principle. They were opposed to it. People should have followed the intentions of their original hearts and pursued the laws of the Principle; yet because of the fall, they lost everything and headed in the opposite direction. As a result of this, the directions that our original minds pursue and the actual environment in which we live are diametrically opposed to one another.

We are searching for God and the path of the Way. In whom should we take pride? Before we take pride in ourselves, we must boast about our center. If we want to be proud of our nation, rather than being proud centered on ourselves, we must be proud of a patriot of that nation. When we are proud of our tribe, we must be proud of its center. The same thing is true for the family.

Therefore, fallen people must reject and transcend themselves to find the source of their pride in the center of a group, province, nation, world and God, who is the center of heaven and earth. Unless we do this, we can never stand as the source of God’s pride.

You must become universal

All your surroundings belong to the universe. Unless you make yourself a universal being and become tied to the universal cause, God, you must realize that all nature around you will not want to be possessed by you or be of service to you. You must become their subject first by making yourself a universal being who is connected to the original cause. Then you are in a position to care for, love, and enjoy the universe. If you make yourself a universal being, connected to the fundamental origin of the universe, then the sun-rays will want to come and warm your body. Water will want to get into your mouth and air will want to go into your lungs.

When nature is willing to serve you, that air, water and sunshine are far better than any tonic or medicine. The person who deserves the honour of the service of all nature will not catch colds or be seriously ill; he will be healthy for his entire life. Would you like to be someone recognized by the world as a worldwide person? What if you are clumsy, tall and very ugly? Even then you still have the right to become a person respected worldwide by making yourself into a universal man and by connecting yourself to the original subject of the universe.

Let us say that among several friends you have one who is always giving you a hard time, continuously nagging you to pay more attention to him. When you look at that person his face is ugly, always trying to snap at you, complaining that you do not pay enough attention to him. Such a person would come to you and then turn around and kick you. Would you want to be around him?

Compare that kind of relationship to your relationship with the universe. There are two kinds of people. Some continuously nag, “Why didn’t the sun come out today? Why is the world so dirty? Why couldn’t God make me happier?” Such people have only complaints toward God and nature. Will nature like them? Nature will turn around and kick them instead. Such people may try to make themselves happy by going to the health spa and exercising, but everywhere they go they will be surrounded by enemies; the air will shove them, the water slap them, and the sunshine bum them. That kind of person will never be healthy.

The entire natural world has but one universal mind, and as a result the relationship between you and nature should be thought of as the relationship between you and your neighbour. What makes your friend happy or unhappy? Your answer directly applies to your relationship with nature.

Why did our ancestors not leave us a clean, pure heritage? Why did they leave us an evil history? The answer can only be that they did not obey the universal law of service, that they violated the divine law of the universe, desiring to make everything serve them: “The world is mine and must come to serve me.” That basic attitude is the worst violation of universal law.

In order to become lords of creation we must possess universal character and comply with universal law, meaning that we must become unselfish people, existing solely for service to others. We all want to become recognized as a centre of the world, recognized by the universe. In order to do that we ourselves must recognize the value of the universe; we must live in the concept that we are here solely to serve the world. Unless you have that personality you certainly cannot become a central person of the world or the universe.

God is the centre of the universe, the spirit world and physical world together, because He is perfect and exists solely for the sake of others. By living in that way God is making Himself the centre of the universe. I am sure you understand.

We come to the one absolute criterion: Those who serve themselves, trying to take everything for their own benefit, will produce only evil results. Those who willingly and lovingly give for the benefit of others will bring wholesome results, and add benefit to the side of good. What kind of persons were your ancestors? By only thinking about themselves and their own families, they did not expand their personality to the national or worldwide levels.

No matter what you have previously learned, regardless of how good or well-spoken a person may appear, if he seeks to use everything for his own benefit he is evil. The person who thinks of the difference between his own children and other children is not a universal person; if his children are universal beings then all other children are also universal beings. His wife is precious because she is a universal being; therefore all other women are also important and precious. In this respect we have not liberated the selfishness of our egos. That godly way of life has not been clear.
