What Human Beings Must Know, Realize and Experience

As I Can See

The Fall took place because God’s thinking and human beings’ thinking were diametrically opposed. Thus, we must cultivate ourselves and reflect upon ourselves. We must reflect upon and recover ourselves. Because human beings have this obligation, countless philosophers and religious people have sought to resolve this issue, without much success. We understand this very well. In other words, who am “I”?

If human beings necessarily live in relationships, then who is the subject of these relationships? If there is a master of our lives, who is it? It is someone about whom we would say, “Only that person can represent my entire being, my thoughts and my life. I cannot live without him.” The day we recognize that person, we will understand God, the unchanging Master, who has been fighting to hold on to us through the long course of history. From that moment, everything will go smoothly. We came…

Ultimate purpose

As I Can See

No matter how powerful a king of some nation may be, if he is all by himself in the palace, he is a miserable man. He’s got to have a queen; without a queen, he cannot even think of having a family. All people were meant to be educated about the purpose of life, to grow up centered upon God and to be unified in marriage, leading to a fulfilling life. For what ultimate purpose? The ultimate goal is joy. God will be joyful, creation will be joyful, spirit world will be joyful; everything will be joyful. But the word “joyful” will never be fulfilled unless man and woman come together in unified and harmonious give and take.

Where is God?

As I Can See

If there is a God in the universe, how important He must be. If God were only useful for supplying daily meals and necessities, what kind of a God would He be? If God were dwelling on top of a mountain, would He be found on the lowest or the highest mountain? Not only would He be on the highest mountain, but on the peak of the highest mountain. If there were one tree on the top of the mountain, God would be in the top of that tree.

Is it easy to discover God? If God has hidden Himself in the earth, would He be just beneath the surface, or in the depths of the planet? If He dwelt in the desert, He would look for the largest desert, like the Sahara. That’s the way we reason. Suppose God is in the midst of the Sahara. Even though many…

Human nature

As I Can See

Human nature is such that we always desire a fuller relationship of love; we always want to go deeper and deeper into love. It is important to know how we can be harmonized with the essence of love in the universe. First of all, we must think of God as our subject. Each person is always in the position of object to God. What is the subject/object relationship centered upon? It is centered on love. Thus the essential relationship between God and man is that of the subject and object of love. The parent/child relationship is the essential, universal relationship.

God’s Hope for Man

As I Can See

Reverend Sun Myung Moon

Ladies and gentlemen, first of all I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation for your coming tonight. I thank God for this opportunity because I have been looking forward to visiting this city and meeting all of you.

Because we speak different languages, even though I can speak, from your standpoint I am dumb. And from my standpoint, even though you can hear, you are deaf. In order to correct this dumbness and deafness, we need the man standing next to me as my interpreter. However, as you know interpretation from one language to another is not an easy task. So this man beside me really needs your sympathetic understanding.

My topic tonight is “God’s Hope For Man.” This subject is vast in nature and rather complicated in content. I will try my best to stay on the central point of my topic.

If there…

For Whom Are We Living?

As I Can See

Reverend Sun Myung Moon
April 7, 1957

Human beings cannot live without creating relationships with other people. An individual exists because his mind and body are in a relationship and are in the position to live for the sake of the other. This altruism must develop further to care for the family, people, society and the nation. Furthermore, even the universe is to lead a life of altruism. In religious terms, this kind of altruistic life is a life lived for the sake of God.

Centering on yourself, you must find the standard that will enable you to care for others in horizontal relationships. Then, creating three-dimensional relationships, you must find the standard that will enable you to live for the sake of the one center. After that, you must lead a life that can connect with the one center on the levels of the family, nation, world, and universe…

Heaven is here

As I Can See

We live at the end of human history.

Certainly, every end is a new beginning, like at a childbirth, like passing to the spirit world, our eternal homeland.

We are here to develop our character with ceaseless deeds for others’ benefits.

Living for the sake of others.

We are living in the most precious era ever in God’s Providence, when we can breathe the air together with the living Messiah, the Lord of the Second Advent, the King of Kings, the True Parents of Heaven and Earth and Humankind.

Meeting the Messiah up to a lot of things, starting with our good ancestors, and absolutely good spirits, the good spirit world, the way how we conduct our life, and so on.

However, what we do with this Truth is up to us.

We are responsible to change and transform the world.  Starting in ourselves, establishing a Godlike give-and-take action…
